Prithviraj Trailer Out: Akshay Kumar Aces Valour Of Warrior King [Watch]
Bhubaneswar: The trailer of Prithviraj is generating a lot of excitement on social media after being released at a grand launch event at YRF’s office in Mumbai on Monday.
The Akshay Kumar-starrer historical film depicts an immortal story of bravery and valour while narrating the infamous battle of Taratori between Sultan Muhammad Ghori and Prithviraj Chauhan. While Akshay is playing the titular role, former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, who is making her debut, has been cast opposite him as Sanyogita.
The trailer that lasts for 173 seconds shows Prithviraj’s ascent to the throne, his encounter with princess Sanyogita and the epic warfare with invader Sultan Muhammad Ghori with larger-than-life battle scenes and impressive heavy-duty dialogues.
While Sonu Sood is playing Chand Vardai, the most trusted aide of Prithviraj Chauhan, Sanjay Dutt has been cast as his uncle. Manav Vij is essaying the role of Sultan Muhammad Ghori. The dreaded invader has very little dialogue in the trailer but his malevolent look sways the frame.
However, the historical drama written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi misses the extravagant showpieces and production design of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s cinema and has to make up for it with the performance of the lead actors. The pairing of 54-year-old Akshay with 24-year-old Manushi, which was earlier come in for sharp criticism for the wide age gap between the actor, is also likely to garner attention post-release.
Though the movie went to the floor in 2019, the release was delayed due to the COVID pandemic. It will now hit theatres on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
