Bhubaneswar: Along with offline classes for students of kindergarten (KG) to Class VII, the Odisha government has allowed private pre-schools (play and KG) to reopen from February 14.
These institutions have remained closed for almost two years since the outbreak of COVID-19.
In a tweet, the I & PR Department said that COVID appropriate behaviour has to be followed scrupulously by the respective private pre-school management. They have been directed to take utmost care of the small children.
All the teaching and non-teaching staff must be fully vaccinated, it noted.
On Monday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had urged parents to encourage their children to attend school and strictly follow the safety protocols. “Children will have no difficulty if they attend schools. They should abide by the guidelines, maintain social distance, wear masks and frequently wash hands,” said the CM in a video message addressed to students and guardians.
Notably, classes have resumed in schools (Class VIII and above), colleges and other educational institutions since Monday.
The government had decided to reopen the educational institutions amid a steady decline in COVID cases in the state.
