London: The new coronavirus strain found in the UK has not only sent Christmas plans for a toss, it has also disrupted the schedules of celebrities who were there for different reasons.
Thanks to the fresh lockdown and strict restrictions imposed by the British government earlier this week, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been left stranded in Britain, where she had been shooting for a Hollywood film ‘Text for you’ since November.
Several countries have banned flights to and from Britain, fearing an ‘import’ of the latest strain of coronavirus.
According to a report in Mid-Day, the film’s team has been trying to make arrangements for return to the US of the cast and crew members.
“The producers have halted production at the moment. Their top priority is to ensure the safe return of the cast and crew. Special permissions are being sought to travel back to the US, but the procedure may take longer than usual with the lockdown rules becoming stricter than ever before. It is possible that Priyanka and the rest of the unit will have to stay put in the UK for a while,” a source told Mid-Day.
Priyanka and Sam Heugan play the lead roles in the romantic drama.
Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani is also stuck in England, having travelled from India to see wife Nin and daughter Nevaeh.
