Process Of Auctioning 41 Coal Mines To Be Launched Tomorrow, PM To Address


New Delhi: As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission, the Ministry of Coal, in association with FICCI, will be launching the auction process of 41 coal mines under the provisions of CM (SP) Act and MMDR Act on June 18.

Modi will deliver an address during the launch at 11 am on Thursday to outline his vision for the country to achieve self-sufficiency in mining sector which is the key source of input for basic industries like Power, Steel, Aluminium, Sponge Iron etc. Among others to be present are Minister for Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi and FICCI president Dr Sangeetha Reddy.

The event will be web telecast live.

A two-stage electronic auction process will be adopted for allocation of the coal mines. Details about the auction process including the bid documents with the model agreement, detailed timelines of the auction process, coal mines on offer can be accessed at which is being hosted by MSTC Limited, the auction platform provider.
