New Delhi: If you wanted to ‘like’ a post on social media platform X but backed out because you didn’t want others to see your reaction, things are about to change.
X (formerly Twitter), is set to launch its ‘private likes’ feature any day now to protect user privacy.
Henceforth, only the author of a post will be able to see if you liked it – not anyone else.
This option was already there for Premium subscribers of X. Soon, all X users will be able to exercise this option.
“Important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so!” Elon Musk wrote on X.

Haofei Wang, X’s director of engineering, said recently that the upcoming change is meant to protect users’ public image because “many people feel discouraged” to like “edgy” content, The Verge reported.
Musk has effected numerous changes to the microblogging site since acquiring it in October 2022 for $44 billion.
