Berhampur: The pugmarks of a Royal Bengal Tiger were found in another village of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Thursday.
Following the information of the villagers of Khambhari under Digapahandi block of the district, a team of Forest officials went to the spot and inspected the pugmarks.
Digapahandi DFO confirmed that the paw marks belonged to a Royal Bengal Tiger. He also said the Forest department has deputed three teams and installed trap cameras in various locations to track the tiger’s movements.
Earlier, the people of Narasinghagada village in the district had detected the pugmarks of a Royal Bengal Tiger in the nearby forest areas on October 28. They suspected that the tiger might have migrated from Maharashtra last year.
Forest officials checked the pugmarks and installed at least four camera traps in the area to identify the animal. The suspected tiger had reportedly killed a cow in Padmapur village near Ghodahada Dam in Padmapur in the region in another incident.
Though the Forest department had installed four camera traps in the area, the tiger has not been captured yet.
