Puri Heritage Corridor: Second Boundary Wall Likely To Be Built Around Temple

Puri: As part of the Puri Heritage Corridor Project, a second boundary wall is likely to be built around the Jagannath Temple.

According to reports, the new boundary wall will divide the area extending to 75 metres from the temple’s existing boundary wall, the Meghanad Pacheri, into two zones — a 55-metre interior area and a 20-metre exterior area.

The second boundary wall will help in better segregation of the amenities and other facilities around the shrine, Prabhat Panigrahy, Superintendent Engineer of the Srimandir Heritage Corridor project, was quoted as saying by a news portal.

A buffer zone will also be created in the 55-metre area. It will have an inner Pradakshina, outer Pradakshina and all amenities for public convenience like toilets, shelter pavilion, mini cloak room, information kiosks.

In the 20-metre outer area, there will be provision for electric vehicles.
