Puri Jagannath Temple Reopening: Odisha 5T Secy Inspects Arrangements

Puri: With the Jagannath temple scheduled to reopen on December 23, 5T Secretary VK Pandian led a high-level team to Puri early on Saturday to oversee the arrangements being made for devotees set to visit the shrine.

Pandian went round the temple and the heritage corridor and reviewed the ongoing developmental works. He was accompanied by Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Krishan Kumar, Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra Puri Collector Balwant Singh and SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.

The team directed the local administration to expedite the cleaning of the four sides of the temple as well as the heritage sites.

The team also reviewed the arrangements for devotees at Lokanath temple and the ongoing construction of a 20-metre outer ring road.

During the review meeting, the local administration briefed the team that the land acquisition for the heritage corridor and the buffer area will be expedited.
