Puri: The Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri will remain out of bounds for devotees for the next two days.
The temple will remain closed for devotees on Sunday for COVID sanitisation work and on Monday for Bada Ekadasi.
Moreover, general darshan will also be restricted on Kartika Purnima, which falls on November 19.
However, rituals will be performed by the servitors as usual.
As per the revised guidelines issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) last month for devotees visiting the temple, all devotees visiting the temple will have to produce the final certificate for Covid-19 vaccination (of having taken two Doses) or CcOvID-19 negative certificate (RTPCR) of testing done within 96 hours prior to their visit to the Temple.
The other SOPs include, all will have to follow the queue system which opens at 7 am. Devotees will enter through the barricades opposite to the shoe stand at the North-East side of the complex.
All devotees will have to carry their photo ID Card like Aadhaar/Voter ID etc. They will have to enter through Singhadwar and exit through Uttaradwar.
Earlier, the SJTA Chief had urged Habisyalis not to visit the temple during the Holy month of Kartika as part of precautionary measures to prevent congregation and further spread of COVID infection.
