Bhubaneswar: The body of a youth was found from an unused pond under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar on Friday morning.
As per reports, the youth, identified as Santosh Pradhan of Kunjar village under Pipili block of Puri district, had lost his parents since his childhood. A man from Aiginia in Bhubaneswar had brought him to stay with his family at the time.
Though the man passed away a few years back, Santosh continued to stay with his family. The locals said Santosh was staying like a member of the family and there was no animosity among them.
On Friday morning, some local people of Rajiv Nagar of Aiginia found the body of Santosh floating in an unused pond. Since they recognised him, they informed the police.
A team from Bharatpur police station went to the spot and brought the body out of the pond. They sent the body for post-mortem and started investigation after registering a case. The cause of Santosh’s death would be known after getting the post-mortem report, the police said.
