Puri’s COVID-19 Patient Delivered Posts In These Areas In Bhubaneswar During Lockdown

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Commissioner (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chand Chaudhury on Saturday said that the COVID-19 patient from Puri was posted at BJB Nagar Sub-Post Office in the Odisha capital and worked as a postman.

He is one of the three Jamaat members in Odisha, who have tested positive for the deadly virus.

“He had returned from Delhi on March 10. Gautam Nagar and Court areas were his service area,” he said.

The Commissioner said that he had delivered posts during the lockdown period. “If anyone in these two areas had come contact with him then I would request them to stay in home quarantine and register with 104,” he said.

If anyone has developed any symptoms like cough or fever, they should dial 104 and accordingly arrangements will be made to collect their samples, he added.

Chaudhury appealed to people for cooperation during surveillance and contact tracing in the coming days.
