Four universities from Odisha have figured among the 100 best in the country in the ‘Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) India University Ranking 2020’, released on Tuesday.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, has been ranked as the 20th best institute in India, a gain of one slot from last year.
The QS Odisha Ranking List:
IIT Bhubaneswar 20
NIT Rourkela 29
Siksha O Anusandhan University 49
KIIT 66-70 band
This is the second time that the British higher education analysts QS has published separate ranking for top institutions in India. The first edition was released in 2019, and IIT Bombay had clinched the top place on the list even then.

2. IISc Bangalore
3. IIT Delhi
4. IIT Madras
5. IIT Kharagpur
6. IIT Kanpur
7. University of Delhi
8. University of Hyderabad
9. IIT Roorkee
10.IIT Guwahati
The ranking list has been prepared based on eight parameters. They are:
Academic reputation (30 per cent)
Employer reputation (20 per cent)
Faculty-student ratio (20 per cent)
Staff with PhD (10 per cent)
Papers per faculty (10 per cent)
Citation per paper (5 per cent)
International faculty (2.5 per cent)
International students (2.5 per cent).
