Question Paper Leak: JE Civil Aspirants Protest Before OSSC Office, Demand Impartial Probe
Bhubaneswar: The candidates, who had appeared at the main written examination for Junior Engineer (Civil) posts, on Monday protested leak of question paper and demanded stern action against those responsible for it.
Hundreds of aspirants staged a dharna in front of the office of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), which conducted the examination, in Bhubaneswar on Monday. They demanded an impartial probe into the incident to expose those responsible for it.
“The cancellation of the JE (Civil) main written examination due to leak of question paper has put our career at stake. Though the OSSC chairman has announced next date of examination, we feel harassed. Who can guarantee that the same thing will not be repeated again?,” said the protesters.
Later, the aspirants went to the chief minister’s grievance cell in the city to draw his attention to the issue. Alleging that some officials of OSSC and the state government were involved in the racket, they wanted action against them.
They demanded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to order impartial probe into the matter and take stringent action against the government officials responsible for it so that similar incidents are not repeated in future.
It may be noted that OSSC chairman Abhay on Sunday announced cancellation of the JE (Civil) main examination on the recommendation of Balasore SP Sagarika Nath following investigation into fake job racket. The investigation into the racket had led to reveal the question paper leak.
