Puri: In a significant development, the much-awaited queue system for devotees will be introduced at Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri after the holy month of ‘Kartika’.
Similarly, the inventory of the Ratna Bhandar valuables in the 12th century shrine is set to be conducted after Panchuka.
Revealing this on Friday, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said all arrangements for the queue system as well as counting and documentation valuables of Ratna Bhandar are already being made in coordination with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Regarding the much-awaited inventory of treasures, Harichandan said all necessary formalities and procedural clearances are being completed to ensure that the entire exercise is held in a smooth and transparent manner.
The Minister made it clear that the rituals, traditions and security protocols of the 12th century shrine would be strictly followed for the conduct of Ratna Bhandar inventory.
Stating that the government is committed to maintaining complete transparency during the process, he said proper measures would be taken for safeguarding the sanctity of Lord Jagannath’s treasures while conducting the inventory.
The inventory exercise will be supervised by a high-level committee to ensure systematic documentation of the precious jewels, ornaments and other valuables of the Lords of Srimandir, Harichandan said.
He said the officials concerned have been asked to ensure all arrangements, including security, preservation, and record management, are in place before the process begins.
Sharing details of special arrangements made for the upcoming ‘Panchuka’, the Law Minister said devotees will be allowed to have disciplined and orderly darshan inside the temple during these last five days of the holy month of Kartika. Entry will be permitted only through the ‘Singhadwar’, while devotees will exit through the other three gates.
