Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Odisha in October as part of efforts to rejuvenate the party organisation in the state.,
Sharing this information on Tuesday, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das said Rahul Gandhi, who is the leader of opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, is set to attend a ‘Chhatron Kin Gunj’ programme for students and youths in Bhubaneswar.
“We have sent a proposal in this regard. Rahul Gandhi is very likely to attend the ‘Chhatra Ki Gunj’ programme in Bhubaneswar. Over 20,000 youths are expected to participate. The event will focus on issues concerning Gen-Z”, the PCC chief said.
The party is set to organise a major programme in Bhubaneswar next where youth-related issues will be discussed in detail, he added.
Keeping the upcoming Panchayat elections in view, the Congress will hold a series of marathon programmes in the state, said Das.
The Congress is set to launch a padayatra from Nabarangapur on October 2, in which a large number of party workers and leaders will take part.
This apart, senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and the Karnataka Chief Minister are slated to visit Odisha between January and February next year as part of the party’s campaign push, the senior Congress leader added.
