New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday submitted an “unconditional apology” to the Supreme Court, saying he had “unintentionally and inadvertently” linked its Rafale case order to his “Chowkidar chor hai” phrase against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reports NDTV.
On April 30, Rahul had told the court he would apologise through a fresh affidavit for wrongly attributing the “Chowkidar chor hai” remark to the Supreme Court. Rahul had expressed regret in an earlier affidavit, but the BJP had argued that it was nowhere near a required unqualified apology.
“(Rahul Gandhi) unconditionally apologises for the wrongful attributions to this Hon’ble Court. The Deponent further states that any such attributions were entirely unintentional, non-willful and inadvertent,” the new affidavit says.
