Bargarh: The stage is set for the arrival of Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Friday.
According to the schedule, Rahul will leave Raipur in a helicopter at around 12 noon and arrive at the helipad in Sarsara village on the outskirts of Bargarh town at 12.30 pm. From there, he will arrive at the meeting venue in a field near the village and address the public meeting at 1 pm. More than 50,000 people are expected to be present at the meeting venue.
Earlier, Congress president, senior Congress leader Hameed Hussain had visited the meeting venue on Thursday. The Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel had reviewed the security arrangements in and around the meeting venue.
This will be Rahul’s fourth visit to Odisha this year. The Congress chief had visited Bhubaneswar on January 25 followed by Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district and Rourkela in Sundargarh district on February 6 and Jeypore in Koraput district on March 8.
