Rahul Slams Govt: 8,400 Crore Plane For PM & Non-Bullet Proof Vehicles For Soldiers?

New Delhi: How come the government spends Rs 8,400 crore to procure an aircraft for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but soldiers travel in non-bullet proof vehicles? Is this justice, Rahul Gandhi wondered.

The Congress leader also posted a video of a purported conversation between soldiers being transported in non-bullet proof vehicles.

“Our jawans are being sent in non-bullet proof trucks to get martyred and a Rs 8,400 crore aircraft is brought for the PM! Is this justice,” he tweeted in Hindi on Saturday.

The video shows a conversation between soldiers taking exception to their travelling in a non-bullet proof vehicle, while their seniors got bullet-proof vehicles. They complained that their lives were being compromised.

The Centre recently acquired two VVIP planes for travel purposes of the President, Prime Minister and Vice-President.
