Rain Intensity To Decrease In Odisha; Alert For Khurda, Cuttack & 5 Other Dists Till Tomorrow Morning

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda and Cuttack till 8.30 am on September 22.

Thunderstorm with lightning alert has also been sounded for one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal during this period.

A yellow warning for thunderstorm/lightning continues for one or two places in Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj during the subsequent 24 hours while several places in the state will continue to experience light to moderate rain till 8.30 am on September 26, the MeT office said.

The IMD further informed that the low-pressure area now lies over northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood and is very likely to move west-northwestwards during the next 2 days.
