Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thundershower and lightning is likely to lash at least 13 districts of Odisha on Wednesday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
Warning was also issued for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities for three hours in the afternoon.
In a message issued at 1.45 pm, the IMD sounded a yellow warning for Ganjam, Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Angul districts.
Light to moderate rain, thundershower and lightning may occur in these districts in next three hours, it said.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
