Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for nine districts of Odisha, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till 3.30 pm on Wednesday.
Light to moderate rain with lightning is likely in some parts of Cuttack, Khurda, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in next 2 hours.
The MeT office has warned of waterlogging in low-lying areas and occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban areas.
There is also a forecast for heavy rain at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Angul till Thursday morning. The intensity of rain across the state is likely to increase thereafter with the likely formation of a low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal, it added.
