Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red , orange and yellow warnings for several districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
RED WARNING: Thunderstorm/lightning accompanied by heavy rain, hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph may affect some parts of Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.
ORANGE WARNING: Moderate thunderstorm/lightning along with moderate rain and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph may lash some parts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Jajpur, Dhankanal, Angul, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kalahandi and Jagatsinghpur.
Under its impact, there could be minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops.
YELLOW WARNING: Light to moderate thunderstorm/lightning and light to moderate rain with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in some parts of Malkangiri and Deogarh districts.
People in these 21 districts have also been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.
