Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for four districts of Odisha till 4 pm on Wednesday.
Moderate thunderstorm/lightning accompanied by moderate rain with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph may affect some parts of Kendrapada in 3 hours.
The weather agency has warned of minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops in this district.
Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may also occur in Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj during this period.
People of these four districts have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
