Bhubaneswar: Rainfall activity in Odisha is likely to decrease gradually from Thursday with the system over Southwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal weakening into a low-pressure area.
“The well-marked low pressure area over Southwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu coasts moved westwards and weakened into a low pressure area over the same region at 5.30am,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin.
The weather agency had earlier forecast light rain at one or two places in Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam districts on December 26. It had, however, warned of dense fog of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal , Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri. Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Balangir, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Bargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj till December 27 morning.
Dry weather may prevail across the state thereafter. There will also be no large change in the night temperature during the next 3-4 days.
