Bhubaneswar: Rainfall in Odisha will continue till February 9 (Sunday), the Met Office here said on Wednesday.

The morning weather bulletin predicted that there will be thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places in Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Angul, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Deogarh and Keonjhar districts and in some parts of coastal Odisha on Wednesday under the influence of a cyclonic circulation.

Besides, there will be dense fog at one or two places in Rayagada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts during the period.

On Thursday, light to moderate rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in coastal Odisha and at one or two places in the interior districts of the state.

The duty officer of Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, Charana Behera said the rainfall activity will continue till February 9.

On Friday, there will be thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Deogarh, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts.

On Saturday, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsingpur, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Balangir districts will experience thunderstorms with lightning.

On Sunday, similar weather activity will be witnessed at a few places in the  districts of north coastal Odisha, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Balangir, Nuapada, Angul and Dhenkanal.

Behera stated that the squally weather in most parts of Odisha will continue till February 9, The night temperature will fall by 2-3 degree Celsius for two days from February 9, he added.

There has been report on light to moderate rainfall in Kandhamal, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur,
Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Deogarh and Khurda from Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours was highest in Boudh with 25.7 mm followed by Sonepur (22.8), Talcher (13), Balangir (11.4), Angul (10), Chandbali (9.4), Titlagarh (9), Sundargarh (8), Jharsuguda (4.5) and Bhawanipatna (4.4).
