Rain Kills 31 in MP, Rajasthan & Gujarat

Thirty-one people have reportedly died in unseasonal rains in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat, reports said. At least 16 people died in Madhya Pradesh alone in the last two days after heavy rains, dust storms and lightning hit various parts, reports The Hush Post.

In Rajasthan, heavy rains and storm killed six people, while Gujarat witnessed a sudden change in weather on Tuesday afternoon. Heavy rains and dust storms left a few people dead in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to unseasonal rains and storms in Gujarat. He also approved Rs 50,000 each for those injured in the natural calamity.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath reminded Modi that he was the “Prime Minister of the country and not Gujarat”.
