Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Festival time is movie time, when people throng theatres for some good time and ensure full house for the producers. This Raja saw release of two Odia films – ‘Sundergarh Ra Salman Khan’ and ‘4 Idiots’.
The premiers of these films were held at various cinema halls in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in the presence of the star casts on Wednesday.
With chocolate boy Babushan and debutant Divya in the lead, Tarang Cine Production’s Sundergarh Ra Salman Khan was premiered at packed-to-capacity Jayashree Hall in Cuttack and Shriya Talkies here. Fans flocked to the theatres for a glimpse of their favourite actors.
The film directed by Ashok Pati also features Bobby Mishra, Mihir Das, Papu Pom Pom and Usasi Mishra. One among the songs ‘Pyar Wala Hichki’, composed by Abhijit Majumdar, already had listeners groove to it.
Jointly produced by Akshay Parija, Zee Sarthak and Prakash Films, multi-star cast ‘4 Idiots’ is also being appreciated by moviegoers.
The four lead pairs of the film are Kuna Tripathy and Chandini, Akash Das Nayak and Poonam Mishra, Chittaranjan Tripathy and Lipsa Mishra, Sabyasachi Mishra and Elina Samantaray. Comedy king Papu Pom Pom had to be dropped after he fell ill.
Basanta Sahi donned the director’s hat for the film, whose music has been scored by Prem Anand.
At the premier of the film in Cuttack, Sabyasachi Mishra invited one of his fans, a visually-impaired girl. Keeping with the girl’s request to meet him someday, the actor watched the movie with her entire family.
Unfortunately, ‘Prem Kumar’ slated for Raja release was delayed after its lead actor Anubhav Mohanty sustained serious injuries during the early days of shooting. Shivani Sangeeta and Tamanna have been paired opposite him in the film.
Last Raja, Anubahv and Elina’s ‘Abhay’ and Babushan and Shivani Sangeeta’s ‘Sister Sridevi’ had clashed at the box office. Barsh and Arindam’s ‘Rome Juliet’ was released a little later.
