Mumbai: Actor Rakul Preet Singh recently found herself at the centre of an online debate after a video of hers from Gir National Park went viral on social media.
The clip sparked mixed reactions among users, prompting forest authorities to step in and issue a clarification regarding the incident.
The controversy began after the team of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul, recently visited the Gir National Park for a jungle safari ahead of their film’s release.
Soon after the visit, a video of Rakul began circulating widely online, showing the actor walking near the safari vehicle.
The clip triggered debate on social media, with several users questioning whether she had been permitted to step out of the jeep inside a restricted zone of the national park.
Responding to the controversy, park authorities issued a clarification stating that the video was shot near the entry point, outside the restricted safari area.
Officials further emphasised that visitors are strictly prohibited from getting out of their vehicles inside restricted zones of the park.
“We have already issued a clarification regarding this video through our official Twitter handle. We clarified that the video is from outside the entry point of the Sasan Sanctuary. Every sanctuary has a designated entry point for visitors entering the protected area. The viral video was shot outside that point. Therefore, we clarified that the incident did not take place inside the restricted zone,” shared the official statement.
The statement further clarified that as per the rules, “once inside the sanctuary, no one is allowed to step out of their safari vehicle. In the viral visuals, she is seen outside the entry point area, after which she left and returned.”
Speaking about Rakul’s viral video, the statement revealed, “Rakul Preet Singh had come with her team for a planned sanctuary visit. However, before entering the sanctuary, she experienced a medical issue. Due to this, her team took her back, and she did not enter the sanctuary premises.”
The statement concluded, “Our restricted zone begins only after the sanctuary entry point. No rules were violated. We have already clarified this through our official Twitter handle.”

How come they are allowed to get out of the vehicle? Isn’t it a violation of forest rules? There should not be separate rules for celebrities. pic.twitter.com/IGB3KLzlHU
