Hyderabad: Ram Charan-starrer upcoming sports drama ‘Peddi’ will hit theatres on March 27 next year.
Co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, the film, which is directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is one of the most-awaited films because of its rustic cricket backdrop.
Ahead of its theatrical release, the digital rights of the film have reportedly been acquired by streaming giant Netflix for a staggering Rs 105 crore. The deal covers post-theatrical streaming rights in all languages, thereby augmenting the film’s commercial prospects.
Further, an estimated Rs 75 crore is expected from its satellite, music, and ancillary rights, according to reports, quoting industry sources.
Co-financed by Vriddhi Cinemas and Mythri Movie Makers, the film also feature Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu Sharma in key roles.
The story revolves around a spirited villager (played by Ram), who brings his people together through sports to fight against a powerful enemy.
