Mumbai: The cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited epic Ramayana came together in Delhi for a grand promotional event at Bharat Mandapam.

In a unique marketing move, the makers unveiled a comic book offering the first glimpses of the film’s key characters.

The comic delves deep into the mythological universe of Ramayana, showcasing detailed concept art of its central characters, grand kingdoms and breathtaking locations.

As glimpses from the comic went viral on social media, fans began creating their own AI-generated images inspired by the artwork.

Sai Pallavi’s portrayal of Sita appeared particularly regal. One illustration showed her dressed in a red saree and adorned with gold jewellery, while another featured her in a saffron saree, holding blades in her hands.

Ranbir Kapoor’s illustration as Ram stayed consistent with the look revealed in the epic’s first teaser, while another artwork showed him drawing his bow and firing an arrow.

Yash, meanwhile, appeared striking and intimidating in his monstrous avatar, dressed in elaborate royal armour.

The comic also introduces several other key characters, including Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Adinath Kothare as Bharat, Nitish Sharma as Shatrughan, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Shobana as Kaikesi and Chetan Hansraj as Sumali.

The cast further features Anupam Kher as Jatayu, Kajal Aggarwal as Queen Mandodari, Faisal Malik as Kumbhakarna, Mukesh Tiwari as Agastya Muni and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha.

Beyond the characters, the comic also features elaborate depictions of Ayodhya, Mithila and Lanka — kingdoms that play a crucial role in the story.

From majestic royal courts to picturesque landscapes, the visuals offer a glimpse into the film’s expansive mythological world. The artwork also features the holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

Earlier this week, producer Namit Malhotra and the Ramayana team unveiled the trailer release date along with a special note.

The note read, “From Bharat to the world. For thousands of years, the Ramayana has inspired generations through its timeless ideals of dharma, maryada, courage, and compassion. Now, it begins a new journey. One of Bharat’s greatest civilisational epics, presented to the world at a scale never attempted before in Indian cinema. The Ramayana trailer premieres worldwide on 24th July.”
