Cuttack: Subhranshu Senapati is back as Odisha’s Ranji Trophy captain.
Senapati, who had left Odisha to play for Madhya Pradesh last season, will lead a 15-member squad named for the first three matches of the 2025-26 season.
Odisha Senior Men’s selection committee chairperson Sourajit Mohapatra, along with other selectors Abakash Khatua and Subhrajit Sahoo named three new faces — Gourav Choudhary, Sambit Baral and Badal Biswal – who earned their maiden call-up to the Odisha Ranji Trophy squad.
Swastik Samal, who led Cuttack Panthers to the title in the inaugural Odisha Pro T20 League last month, was named vice-captain.
Veteran Biplab Samantaray was chosen as one of the five players on stand-by.
Odisha, who have been placed in Elite Group A, will open their campaign with a home match against Baroda at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium, from October 15 to 18.
Odisha will then travel to Kanpur to face Uttar Pradesh at the Green Park Stadium, from October 25-28.
