Mumbai: Rashmika Mandanna was the one who initiated marriage talks with Vijay Deverakonda, asking him to marry her for an entire year before they tied the knot.
The actor made the revelation in a new promo for ‘Koffee With Karan Season 9’, which features the newly married couple sharing playful anecdotes about their relationship.
In the promo, host Karan Johar asks the couple whether Vijay had proposed to Rashmika. When the actress shakes her head, Vijay explains how their conversation about marriage began.
Recalling the exchange, he says, “She was like, ‘Let’s get married.’ I was like, ‘Okay, you have asked me a 100 times.’”
Karan then asks Rashmika if she had indeed asked Vijay to marry her 100 times. Clarifying his remark, the actress says, “I asked him for an entire year.” Vijay responds, “I am not an a**hole.”
During the rapid-fire round, Karan asks Rashmika to choose between her ‘Pushpa’ co-star Allu Arjun and ‘Animal’ star Ranbir Kapoor. She picks Allu Arjun.
Karan also asks Vijay who he shares the best on-screen chemistry with, apart from Rashmika. Before the actor can respond, Rashmika jumps in with, “Nobody.”
Playing along, Vijay quips, “Rule no. 101 of marriage: Agree with the wife,” leaving Rashmika laughing.
Their light-hearted exchange offers a glimpse into their married life as they tease each other while answering questions about their personal and professional lives.
The episode marks Rashmika’s debut on ‘Koffee With Karan’.
Vijay, meanwhile, previously appeared on the show in Season 7 alongside his Liger co-star Ananya Panday.
