Washington: After the US recently alleged that an attempt to assassinate Sikhs for Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had been foiled on American soil,
The case of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, against whom an alleged assassination plot was foiled in the US, has taken a new turn.
A US media report has claimed that former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer Vikram Yadav had hired a hit team and plotted an attack on Pannun on American soil.
According to the Washington Post report, Yadav had forwarded details about Pannun, including his New York address.
The Washington Post claimed that the India’s Ministry of External Affairs declined to respond on its article.
The Financial Times reported in November 2022 that the US had foiled a plot to kill Pannun, and that the Joe Biden administration issued a ‘warning” to the Indian government over concerns that New Delhi was ‘involved in the plot’ to eliminate Pannun.
An indictment was thereafter filed in a New York court claiming that a man named Nikhil Gupta colluded with Indian government official in the plan to murder Pannun, who holds dual American and Canadian citizenship.

The indictment report had referred to one ‘CC-1’, who allegedly directed the plot to kill Pannun from India. He apparently recruited Gupta to carry out Pannun’s killing, as per the charges.
‘CC-1’ is said to be ex-RAW official Vikram Yadav, according the Washington Post.
