Berhampur: The Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division) Odisha, Roopa Roshan Sahoo, on Wednesday visited the famous Tara Tarini shrine, and interacted with the stakeholders and called for a detailed meeting soon on the future development work.
While inspecting the ongoing work, after paying her obeisance to the Goddess, she interacted with the Priests, Trust members and key local government officials involved in the functioning and upkeep and maintenance of the temple and listened to their suggestions and opinions, patiently.
The RDC (Southern Division) is the Chairperson of the Tara Tarini Temple Trust.
The Tara Tarini Temple is a major Hindu shrine of Adi Shakti at the Kumari Hills on the bank of Rushikulya river near Purushottampur in Ganjam district of Odisha, around 28km away from the Silk City, Berhampur. It is one of the four Adi Shakti Peethas in Odisha.
The RDC also hinted at taking up more development work for the convenience of the visiting tourists as Tara Tarini is a major attraction for people touring Ganjam and especially Berhampur, and it also comes within the same tourism circuit which has other important destinations like Jaugada of Ashokan edict fame, Tampara lake, Pota Gada and Gopalpur-on-sea, among others.
