Recovery Rate In Odisha’s Ganjam Much Higher Than National Average: Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday said more than 85 per cent of rural Ganjam is in green zone now and the recovery rate in the district is much higher than the national average.

Inaugurating two dedicated COVID hospitals in Berhampur through video-conferencing, the chief minister said after Unlock One, lakhs of Odia people living outside the state returned to Ganjam district, especially from hotspot areas. Thanks to the dedication and sacrifice of COVID Warriors, and support of the local people, the district is fighting well, he added.

Stating that the state government will put all efforts to protect lives of the people, he said in the absence of vaccine or treatment, the only way to effectively fight this pandemic is through using masks, following social distance norms and other government regulations.

“My sincere appeal to everyone, please don’t come out, if not required and completely avoid crowded places, and don’t allow complacency to cloud our judgement. My Government will leave no stone unturned in fighting this pandemic and saving lives of our people,” Naveen said.

Of the new COVID Hospitals, one is located at Kanish and the other at MKCG Medical College and Hospital. Each hospital is equipped with 150 beds and 24 ICU beds with ventilators.
