Rekha Must Undergo COVID-19 Test, Says Mumbai Mayor

Mumbai: Veteran actress Rekha had refused to undergo COVID-19 test earlier this month after her security guard got infected with the deadly virus.

As per a DNA report, Mumbai Mayor Mayuri Pednekar has stated that it’s important for Rekha to undergo the swab test for COVID-19 for her own well-being.

“Whether there are any symptoms or not, it is important to undergo a swab test for her as age is an important factor in this and she can’t escape it. Rekha must undergo the test for her fans and well-wishers,” said the Mayor.

After Rekha’s security guard tested positive for COVID-19, the actress’ bungalow Sea Springs in Bandra was sealed and declared a containment zone.

When officials of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) approached the actress for the swab test, Rekha’s manager Farzana turned them down stating that the actress is fit and fine, and will undergo the test on her own.

Rekha’s neighbour Farhan Akhtar’s security guard also tested positive for the virus soon after and his bungalow, too, has been sealed.
