Religious Places In Odisha’s Ganjam Closed For Public Till January 31
Ganjam: In view of rising COVID cases, the Ganjam administration announced closure of religious places in the district for public from January 9 to 31.
The district administration has taken this decision to avoid crowding at religious places, Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said.
However, all rituals will be performed by servitors amid strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
Notably, the Jagannath temple in Puri will remain closed for devotees from January 10 to 31.
Puri Collector Samarth Verma said the temple will be closed for devotees in view of the rising COVID cases in the town and across the country. However, daily rituals and special occasions will be performed by the servitors as per tradition, he added.
