Reopening Of Schools, Colleges In Odisha: CM Raps Depts For Different Versions, Clarifies Govt Stand

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday expressed displeasure over statements given by two departments on re-opening of schools and colleges in the state and clarified the issue.

Resenting the departments’ lack of coordination, Naveen said the state government will take appropriate decision at the right time after reviewing the COVID-19 situation.

Earlier on the day, secretary, Higher Education department Saswat Mishra had said the department is hopeful of reopening of colleges across the state in January 2021.

Similarly, School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash had said there is likelihood of reopening of schools after New Year. Priority will be given to Standard X and XII and if possible, classes might continue on holidays and weekends, he added.
