Revolt Motors By Micromax Co-Founder Launches Electric Motorcycle RV 400
Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma’s new venture Revolt Motors has revealed its first electric motorbike named RV 400. The bike can be pre-booked for Rs 1,000 on the company’s site and Amazon.
The RV 400 will initially be available in Delhi, followed by NCR, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Chennai in the next four months. The price of the motorbike has not been revealed and deliveries will begin in July 2019.
Revolt Motors claims an ARAI range of 156km. The AI-powered bike features all-LED lighting, fully-digital dash, 4G connectivity and more.
The RV 400 will be manufactured in Maneswar, Haryana at a 1 lakh sqft factory that has production capacity of 1.2 lakh units. The motor and batteries are currently imported while the Battery Management System (BMS) and the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) are designed in-house.
The RV 400 features a USD fork, a monoshock and disc brakes. Since the bike has automatic transmission, Revolt has placed a rear brake lever in place of the clutch lever.
The battery is removable and can be recharged directly using a 15A socket. The company is also planning to introduce battery-leasing plans and battery-swap stations like 22 KYMCO.
The bike comes with an app that will show the real-time range, trip history, define geo-fence perimeter and even start the bike.
As advertised, the electric motorcycle will have customisable artificial exhaust sounds.
It will be available in Rebel Red and Cosmic Black shades.
