Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday flagged off Puri-Jaleswar MEMU passenger train in Bhubaneswar railway station in presence of Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Dharmendra Pradhan and MPs Pratap Sarangi and Aparajita Sarangi.
According to sources, Vaishnaw along with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Ministers inaugurated Angul-Balaram and flagged off another Express train between Sambalpur and Shalimar via Talcher-Dhenkanal and Bhadrak at Angul. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged the Railway Minister to name the Express train between Sambalpur-Shalimar via Talcher after Mahima Gosain.
Both the trains will cater to the transport needs of the people of Dhenkanal, Talcher and Angul for direct connectivity to Kolkata.
Timings of New Trains:
- 20832/20831 Sambalpur-Shalimar-Sambalpur Tri-Weekly Express via Talcher and Bhadrak will leave Sambalpur at 7.10 pm, every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday from January 3.
- The train will leave from Shalimar at 9.25 pm, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from January 4 onwards.
- 08416/08415 Puri-Jaleswar-Puri Passenger will leave Puri at 1.15 pm towards Jaleswar from December 31 and will leave Jaleswar at 4.50 am towards Puri, daily, from January 1.
