Roger Federer To Undergo Knee Surgery Again, To Miss US Open

Geneva: Tennis legend Roger Federer will undergo knee surgery and admitted that he “will be out for many months”. This surgery casts a doubt on his future at the age of 40.

The decision ruled him out of the US Open — year’s fourth Grand Slam that is just a couple of weeks away. Federer has won the US Open five times.

“I will be on crutches for many weeks and out of the game for many months,” 20-time Grand Slam title winner Federer said via a video posted on his Instagram account.

“I want to give myself a glimmer of hope to return to the tour in some shape or form,” Federer further said.

“I am realistic, don’t get me wrong. I know how difficult it is at my age to go through another surgery. I will try it. I want to be healthy, I want to be running around,” he added.

It may be recalled that Federer had pulled out of the Tokyo Olympics to rest his knee.
