Roy Krishna Brace Powers Odisha FC To Come-From-Behind Win; Fijian Striker Crosses 50 ISL Goals
Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC rallied splendidly in the second half to turn the tables on Kerala Blasters in their ISL clash at Kalinga Stadium here on Friday evening.
The visitors took an early lead, as Greek Dimitros Diamantakos silenced the home crowd with an 11th-minute strike.
Down by a goal at half-time, Odisha FC came roaring back into the contest thanks to the brilliance of Roy Krishna.
The Fijian striker showed he can be a potent force even at the age of 36, finding the back of the Kerala Blasters net twice in the space of four minutes soon after change of ends.
Krishna first directed an Ahmed Jahouh corner past Blasters goalkeeper Sachin Suresh in the 53rd minute.
Four minutes later, overlapping right-back Amey Ranawade found Krishna with an accurate cross, and the latter did the rest with another well-connected header.
Odisha FC are now level on points (27) at the top with FC Goa. However, Odisha have played two more matches (13) while Goa enjoy a better goal difference.
Odisha FC will travel to Hyderabad for their next match there on February 5.
