Rs 2.45 Cr Ganja Seized From Truck Heading Towards Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: A truck loaded with Ganja worth Rs 2.45 crore, hidden under stacks of banana, en-route Bhubaneswar was intercepted by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials at NAD Junction in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
According to a press note from DRI, 40 bags were concealed underneath the banana stalks with 800 brown packets, containing 1638 kg of the cannabis.
The drugs were loaded near Narsipatnam and handed over to the truck driver near Anakapalle. The smuggled goods were destined to reach Bhubaneswar, it added.
Four people, involved in smuggling and transportation of smuggled goods, have been detained by the DRI officials and further investigation is on.
