Rs 313.61 Crore For Farmer Producer Organisations In Odisha Gets Cabinet Nod

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Sunday approved a provision of Rs 313.61 crore for supporting the farmer producer organisations (FPOs) in the state.

As per the decision, taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the fund has been allocated for 5 years from 2023-24 to 2027-28 financial years for implementation of the state sector scheme FPOs.

The scheme has been introduced with an objective of providing support to more than 1,000 FPOs during the period. At least 3 lakh farmers will benefit from the scheme.

The scheme will support the FPO ecosystem through credit linkage and financial, technical and infrastructural assistance. It will also facilitate market linkage and provide better income opportunities to the farmers of the state.
