It’s FIFA World Cup time and, like in almost every edition, this time too there is an animal soothsayer who is predicting winners for each match! And today, she picked Russia.
Meet Achilles, the ‘Psychic Cat’ who uses her ‘powers’ to determine the winner of a match. And guess what! The white ball of fur already has a winner for the opening match between hosts Russia and minnows Saudi Arabia. Like most football fans that have a fair idea about the game, Achilles has placed her bets on Russia!
The deaf white Russian cat lives at the Hermitage museum, was given two bowls of food with marking of flags of both Russia and Saudi Arabia, and she chose to eat from the bowl with Russian flag marking!
A famous animal soothsayer, Achilles gained popularity after she was able to correctly guess winners during the Confederations Cup last year.
This isn’t the first time an animal soothsayer is involved in the FIFA World Cup. In 2010, Paul the Octopus had become a big sensation for correctly predicting the winners. Similarly, Swiss guinea pig Madame Shiva had been the soothsayer in 2014.
