Bhubaneswar: Students, teachers and staff members of SAI International School took part in a road safety observation programme at the Bharat Petroleum & CNG gas filling station, located at Chandrasekharpur in Odisha’s capital city.
The programme was conducted by the school’s Interact Club as part of Road Safety Week 2026.
Sanat Kumar Jena, Bhubaneswar’s Regional Transport Officer (RTO), was present on the occasion. He delivered an informative speech, highlighting the importance of obeying traffic rules, wearing helmets and seat belts, and driving responsibly.
The students performed a short skit on road safety to make the initiative impactful. They made the public wear handmade badges with the message ‘Pledge to Drive Safe’, and also pasted stickers with the same message on vehicles.
The RTO provided informative leaflets, which were distributed among the public to spread awareness on road safety and safe driving practices.
Students counselled motorists who were not wearing helmets or seat belts, sensitising them about road safety norms.
The message was later spread at the school campus, where badges were worn by the management staff, principal, teachers and students.
