Mumbai: Ahaan Panday, who rose to fame with his debut film ‘Saiyaara’, has said he is keen to work with Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan.
Ahaan is excited about the idea but stressed that any collaboration should come from a real connection, not just for the sake of it.
During a conversation with Filmfare, asked whether Aryan and he can be a striking director-actor duo, Ahaan replied: “Yeah, in the future, why not? Not for anything superficial, not because of Bads…(The Ba***ds of Bollywood) or Saiyaara, but because of a real bond.”
He added, “When you grow up with someone, it’s different. There was a time when he’d land from Kent (Sevenoaks School) and before even meeting his parents, he’d come straight to my house. His parents would call me asking why he was like that. When you share that kind of history, there’s so much you understand about each other, so much to explore as performers. Working together wouldn’t feel like work. It’s something I’d genuinely look forward to.”
Ahaan and Aneet Padda made their Bollywood debut with ‘Saiyaara’, which turned out to be a blockbuster.
Directed by Mohit Suri, the romantic drama connected with audiences across the country, thanks to its music, emotional depth and fresh on-screen pairing.
Suri, Ahaan and Aneet are set to reunite for another untitled film, which will explore an intense romantic story. The project is expected to blend heartfelt storytelling with memorable music.
Speaking about the project, Mohit called the reunion “incredibly special” and said he feels like a “newcomer” as he looks forward to bringing the story to life.
“It’s always been love stories for me … overwhelming — when emotions are so unbound , self-consuming and become impossible to ignore. Love is supposed to be felt intensely and that’s why I naturally gravitate towards this as a storyteller. The film explores this unabashedly… so coming back with the same team from Saiyaara feels incredibly special, maybe it was always written in the stars. Reuniting … coming back home .. but with a renewed creative hunger. This time I feel like a newcomer… excited, anxious about this story and I hope my music will again touch people like I have always strived for through my films,” the filmmaker said.
Aryan stepped into direction with last year’s Netflix series ‘The Ba**ds of Bollywood’, taking on multiple roles as creator, writer, director, and showrunner.
The show featured a strong ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol, Lakshya Lalwani, Raghav Juyal, Mona Singh, and Sahher Bambba.
The series included special cameo appearances by prominent stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Diljit Dosanjh.
