Chandigarh: Faridabad Police have arrested a sharp shooter of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang that operates in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The shooter is learnt to have carried out a recce of Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s movements in the actor’s assassination bid, according to police.
Faridabad Police sources have confirmed that 27-year old Rahul alias Sanga aka Baba has been arrested on August 15. Rahul, who was wanted in several criminal cases, belongs to Bhiwani district, but currently lives in Uttarakhand’s Hisar.
The sharp shooter was brought here for probe, as he was also wanted in a local resident’s murder case. A revolver has been recovered from him, cops said.
According to a senior police officer, Rahul had visited Mumbai suburb Bandra, where the actor lives, and did a recce of the actor’s Galaxy Apartment there. He had apparently done that following instructions of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi who is lodged in a jail in Rajasthan.
