Mumbai: Salman Khan’s upcoming film Monster has scored a massive Rs 100 crore deal, with PVR INOX Pictures acquiring its all-India distribution rights.
The big-ticket agreement comes ahead of the film’s theatrical release, adding to the buzz around the project.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the deal is structured as a refundable advance.
A source quoted by the publication said, “This is a huge deal in the modern theatrical world, where distributors are varying putting in big monies on acquisitions. The deal structure is a refundable advance, but the leading giant in exhibition is confident of making big profits from Monster.”
According to reports, Monster will feature striking visuals and present Salman Khan in a distinct new avatar.
The film is also expected to showcase the superstar in multiple looks, offering what is being described as a fresh treatment for him.
“Salman Khan has multiple looks in the film, and PVRInox is confident that the film will draw audiences in a big way. It’s a rather big deal, but the distributor is sure to go wide with its theatrical planning on Eid 2027 weekend,” a source was quoted as saying.
‘Monster’ marks Salman’s first collaboration with Nayanthara, while Arvind Swami is also part of the cast in a pivotal role.
The film is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally and is currently in production.
The team is expected to travel overseas in October for the next shooting schedule.
