Mumbai: Comedian Samay Raina, the host of the roast show ‘India’s Got Latent’, posted his first YouTube video after the Ranveer Allahbadia controversy.
Posted a little before midnight with two emojis, a heart emoji and a hug emoji — used to denote solidarity or togetherness — it was only for paid subscribers of his channel.
Despite the ‘India’s Got Latent’ row and the post’s niche nature, it managed to get around 8,000 likes within a minute.
A Reddit user shared that the post crossed 10k likes in 4 minutes.
“It has 11k likes in 4 minutes on members only. That’s big in my opinion,” wrote a fan.
Another shared, “Ye to bhot kam hai, Agar woh normal post krta to 1L+ likes ho jate ab tak. (This is too less. Had he posted normally, it would have been 100k).”
“He must be thinking of editing and posting a video but then he must have realised that he can’t. So that’s all he can post now,” commented a Reddit user, referring to the ongoing legal proceedings.
Just weeks ago, Samay was in a soup as his show ‘India’s Got Latent’ faced backlash due to a crass remark by guest Ranveer Allahbadia.
Allahbadia aka BeerBiceps joked about ‘watching parents have sex or joining them’.
The comment sparked nationwide protests and several FIRs were filed against the host, the guest and other panelists on the show.
